Below is an example of a training room project. For this project I laid out the floor receptacles to accommodate multiple table layouts for the different uses in the space. The tables feature electrical duplexes and data ports for laptops. The flip top and castor options featured on these tables make them convenient for maneuvering and storing. The acoustical panels on the walls were used to completely resolve a chief complaint of a distracting reverberation in the room. I implemented remote controlled, motorized solar shades in the dormer windows to control lighting when viewing training videos. The third and fourth pictures show the dormer window shade open and then closed.
Conference tables come in a variety of shapes, sizes and styles. Early planning will determine your capacity requirements and what your needs are for electrical and data. Placement of electrical and data in the conference or training room is crucial to the new technology needs for laptops, conference calls, webinars and the use of Smartboards. Most architectural plans will show electrical in center of room, as the table size and base style is unknown to them. This is rarely the ideal location for the electrical and data to enter the table in order to conceal and to eliminate trip hazards of cables. I have seen many a new slab have to be jack hammered because of this. Optimally, with planning performed for the conference and training room design before construction starts, this can be avoided. Custom tables are available in a variety of material including, wood, laminate, glass or stone.
